Duty free shopping notices

Who can shop Duty Free
- Koreans and foreigners departing Korea (including Jeju Island).
- Travellers who place orders using their own account.
- Customers whose account information exactly matches the information in their passport including date of birth, gender, passport name,
and passport number. Orders with incorrect information cannot be picked up.
Duty free allowances and restrictions
[Koreans]
- Outbound travellers are limited to purchase up to US $3,000 in total (excluding goods made in Korea).
- Inbound travellers are limited to US $600 in total overseas purchases.
[Foreigners]
- There is no purchase limit for outbound foreign travellers.
- Inbound travellers are limited to US $600 in total overseas purchases.

※ Please report to the customs officer if purchased duty free items exceed the limit of US $600. Please be aware that you may penalized not only with tax, but also additional fees and penalties for unreported or wrongly purchased duty free items.

Cancel order

  • 1. Please go to My account > My orders > Order cancellation to cancel your order instantly or submit an order cancellation request. If your order is in ‘Products arrived at airport’ status, please contact our customer service center to submit an order cancellation request.
    Once an order has been reported to customs, purchases cannot be cancelled. Please contact our customer service center to submit an order cancellation request and withdraw the report to customs.
    • - An instant order cancellation is possible for orders with “order complete” or “product prepared” status only.
    • - An order cancellation request is a request to cancel orders in ‘products delivered’ status or orders in ‘order complete’ or ‘products prepared’ status but not eligible for instant order cancellation. For example
      • ① An order paid using a mobile device is cancelled after the monthly mobile phone bill has been paid (ex. An order placed in March is cancelled in April).
      • ② An order paid by instant wire transfer is cancelled 30 days after the date of the order.
      • ③ An order paid by credit card is cancelled 90 days after the date of the order.
  • 2. Refunds are issued through the original payment method.
    • - If an order is paid by credit card and the order is cancelled on the same day, then a refund will take place immediately. When the date of order is different from the date of cancellation, the refund may take up to 4 to 7 business days. Order cancellation is not available from 23:50 to 00:10 due to system maintenance.
    • - If an order paid by debit card is cancelled, the refund may take up to 7 business days.
    • - If an order paid by wire transfer is cancelled, the refund may take up to 4 to 7 business days. Customer paying with SC bank accounts cannot cancel orders on weekends.
  • 3. It may take up to 14 days to approve an order cancellation request and complete a refund.
  • 4. Coupon and point recovery depend on the cancellation method being either an “instant order cancellation” or “order cancellation request”. Expired coupons and points cannot be recovered.
    Coupons and points used in orders may be recovered according to expiry date and other conditions after an order cancellation is complete.
    Your L.POINTS will be recovered within 20 minutes after the order cancellation is complete.
  • 5. Items may go out of stock after an order cancellation in which case they may not be reordered. In addition, discounts and currency exchange rates for reorders may differ from cancelled orders.
  • 6. All promotional items and rewards are cancelled along with processed order cancellations.

Our customer service center will contact you at the number you entered if any problems are encountered while cancelling your orders.

 

Refunds & Exchanges

  • 1. Refunds or exchanges can be made within 15 days from the date of pickup.
  • 2. . If actual products are significantly different from descriptions, ads, or contracts, you can submit a refund or exchange request up to 90 days after receipt (or 30 days after acknowledgement of the problem) unless
    • - you are responsible for damage or loss of merchandise. (Damage to a package in order to view package contents is acceptable.)
    • - merchandise has lost value due to use.
    • - time sensitive or perishable merchandise has lost value and cannot be re-sold.
    • - copyable media items are opened or unsealed.
  • 3. Customs regulations for exchanges or refunds
    • - Exchanges or refunds on items exceeding $600 must go through an international mailing service OR be declared and entrusted to customs when entering Korea.
    • - Exchanges or refunds on items less than $600 do not need to go through international mailing service OR be declared and entrusted to customs when entering Korea.
  • 4. Refunds are issued through the original payment method unless
    • - an order paid using a mobile device’s account is cancelled after the monthly mobile phone bill has already been paid.
    • - an order paid by instant wire transfer is cancelled 30 days after the date of order.
    • - an order paid by credit card is cancelled 90 days after the date of order.
    • - an order with multiple exchange bills is partially cancelled.
    In the case of any of the above conditions, refunds will be processed using a bank account.
  • 5. Additional charges including delivery fees may apply to returns or merchandise exchange due to a change of mind.
  • 6. For further assistance regarding returns or exchanges on online exclusive items, please contact our customer service center.
  • 7. Exchanged duty free goods can be picked up at the designated pickup counter at the time of your departure.

Notes for carrying and purchasing liquids and gels (transit / transfer)

 
- All duty free items are packed in a security tamper-evident bag with receipts so that you are able to purchase liquids and gels.
- Please check security restrictions on liquids, aerosols, and gels when transiting or transferring through Korea. Please pack and carry restricted items in your checked baggage when travelling to Korea.
Carry-on restrictions for international flights
Please note the following requirements when making purchases of duty free items. The following requirements are effective for passengers departing Korea after 06:00 on March 1st, 2007.
Under the ICAO recommendations, the security restrictions on liquids, aerosols, and gels are effective for all international flights departing from Korea after 06:00 on March 1st, 2007. Please read the following requirements carefully.

※ Prohibited items: liquid and gels (cosmetics, perfume, red ginseng extract, beverages, toothpaste, hair gel, shampoo, mascara, lipstick, sprays, fountain pens, water-soluble pens, etc.)

Restrictions on carrying duty free items on board (direct flight)
After passing through airport security or making purchases at the city duty free stores, you are allowed to carry liquids, gels, and aerosols such as alcohol and cosmetics on board when
- All items are packed in a security tamper-evident bag.
- All receipts for your orders are in or on the security tamper-evident bag (the staff will put all receipts in or on the bag).
- All security tamper-evident bags are sealed until you are on the plane to your final destination.

※ All passengers must meet all above requirements. Lotte Duty Free will provide the bags you need.

Regulations for carry-on items
Capacity : up to 100ml per container and up to 1L per passenger
- Store liquid in containers and place the containers in a 20cm x 20cm (or smaller) transparent re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity of 1L or less.
- You are not allowed to carry on improperly sealed bags on board.
- Limit one bag per passenger.
- Please note that all passengers are required to undergo x-ray scanning.

※ All passengers must meet all above requirements.
※ Passengers should inform officers of medically necessary liquids, medications, formula, breast milk, and juice in quantities greater than 100ml.

How to pick up

Notes
Only departing passengers who placed orders using their own Lotte Duty Free account can pick up their orders. The account information must exactly match the information in their passports and boarding passes. Orders can be picked up from designated duty free zones (ex. Airports, ports, and pickup counters) only.
To account for any unexpected delays, please arrive at the pickup counter at least 1 hour prior to departure.

※ Duty free items cannot be shipped to your address. You must pick up your orders before boarding, and there is no long-term storage service for duty free items (passengers arriving in Korea cannot pick up any duty free items).

How to pick up your duty free

  5. STEP05 Pick up your order!

Please present your passport, exchange bills, and boarding pass to the Lotte Duty Free pickup counter to pick up your orders.
You cannot pick up your orders unless your flight and passport information (including passport number and passport name) matches the information you entered when you placed the order.
Please check the quantities and conditions of the items and notify the staff immediately if there is any issue with your order.
Lotte Duty Free is not responsible for items once they have been picked up and left Korea.

Unable to print your exchange bills out?
Customers can download the Lotte Online Duty Free app and present the e-exchange bills (with barcode) and exchange bill numbers with their passports (you can find your exchange bills at My Lotte Account).
